Resource Reservations

Equipment

Facilities

Welcome to the new SAFS resource reservation calendar website. If this is your first visit, please read the following information.

Quick, I'm in a Hurry!

  1. Go to http://safsnet.fish.washington.edu/
  2. Click Login at upper right; enter username and password. If you don't remember your password, click "Email password" link below the password field. If not sure you have an account, contact safsdesk@uw.edu or safsweb@uw.edu.
  3. Click SAFS Calendars in navigation menu at left. Please read the brief descriptions of the resource in question before requesting a reservation. It may save you time or confusion, as some things have changed.

The Details (How to and More)

  1. To make a reservation, please read the brief description of the resource category (e.g., Audio-Visual Equipment) listed on the resource reservation homepage. Go to the SAFS Intranet homepage, login (at upper right), and click the "SAFS Calendars" link in the navigation menu at left.
  2. Many calendar descriptions link to a webpage with detailed (often critical) info. Some pages reflect minor changes in policy & procedure.
  3. Administrative approval of a reservation is required for (1) FSH 213/computer labs, (2) miscellaneous, (3) the SAFS truck and (4) wetlabs.
  4. The below figure shows the audio-visual reservations for April:
    1. You can view by month, week and day (tabs at left top of calendar)
    2. You can view all, one or select multiple subcategories via the pulldown menu at top right of calendar.
    3. You can bookmark any combination of subcategories by clicking the “email page” link at the very top right of the webpage. This can be very useful if you frequently check for specific resources. (However, note that this link will always default to the current month; to see a month other than the current one, you must select it from the pulldown menu.)

Calendar

  1. To add a resource, click either the date itself (recommended) or the “Add” link at top right of calendar area (yellow background, next to “Print Calendar” and “Back” links). This takes you to the reservation form:
    1. Select the subcategory first before clicking the date or “Add,”  and the form automatically lists that subcategory. Else, select it from the form pulldown. Please also select the corresponding Color Code pulldown item; this helps to discern different subcategories en masse.
    2. Look at some other reservations to get a sense of nomenclature. Title and short description are usually all you need besides the date, time, and whether it’s recurring (and if so, when it ends).
    3. Title = function/event or person. Short description is only visible if you click the event, which opens up a detail record of just that event.
    4. Where appropriate, you can include formatted text via “Description” field, including images, links, videos, file attachments, etc.

If you have any questions, please contact safsweb@uw.edu.
