Kerry Naish—Research Facilities

Our research program is based in two main facilities within the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences—the on-campus hatchery and the Marine Molecular Biology Laboratory. The hatchery has two runs of Pacific salmon returning each year—chinook and coho. The runs allow us to study the entire life history of these species. The Marine Molecular Biology Laboratory comprises four faculty members and a number of students from the Schools of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences and Oceanography, all of whom work on molecular ecology and evolutionary genetics. This synergy fosters a highly creative and cross-disciplinary environment. Finally, we also work at the hatchery located at Big Beef Creek, which is maintained by the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences.
