FISH 415 (5) Physiology of Aquatic Animals

Fishes live in diverse environments—oceans, lakes, streams. How do they do it? In this course, students learn about the physiological mechanisms and processes that enable fishes to live under such different conditions including how they regulate their body size, what controls their appetite, how they reproduce, change sex and deal with stress. The course includes conducting original experiments on juvenile salmon at the UW Aquatic & Fishery Sciences hatchery.
