A Brief History: Vessels

Alaska field camp

1919-2001

The School of Aquatic & Fishery Sciences has used a wide array of vessels to conduct its research and teaching programs over the years, ranging from small outboard craft to boats in excess of 100 ft LOA, fully equipped with sampling gear and contemporary research tools. The photographs below show some of the vessels used by the School during its history.

Currently, a fleet of small craft are maintained on campus and at various field camps; when larger vessels are needed, they are obtained through cooperating organizations such as the National Marine Fisheries Service.
