First Aid and CPR

All RA’s who have a lab or field component to their RA’ship isrequired to have current First Aid and CPR Certification. Copies of this certification must be turned in to the SAFS Student Services Office before the start of the appointment. If you are not currently certified, please email safs@u.washington.edu and we will help you find the appropriate training. The department will pay for training if it is required for this position.

Animal Care

Anyone working with live vertebrate organisms must pass the online Animal Care Use Examination. Once passed, students should turn copies of the certification into the SAFS Student Services Office. For certification information, please see the following page:

Building Access on Nights and Weekends

RA’s who don’t already have building access on their Husky Cards may be given access by emailing safsdesk@u.washington.edu and indicating for which professor they are working.

Keys

TA’s who need building keys should have their professor email safsdesk@u.washington.edu with a list of keys they will need. RA’s are required to turn in the keys at the end of the quarter.

Mailbox

All RA’s will have a mailbox in FSH 113 and are expected to check the mailbox on a regular basis.
