Lowell A. Wakefield was a prominent leader in the Washington and Alaska fishing industries. In memory of Mr. Wakefield, his wife, Frankie L. Wakefield, has established this professorship in order to help attract and support outstanding faculty members in the area of fisheries research, which may advance knowledge in fishery sciences and contribute to the welfare of the fishing industries.
