Microsoft Vista BusinessUpgrade Only
QUESTION: "How do I upgrade my computer to Vista?"
ANSWER
- Windows Vista comes in 4 flavors (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Enterprise). The quickest way for you to upgrade to Vista would be to buy the boxed upgraded kit at the University Bookstore. Expect to pay close to full retail pricing for the boxed software.
- The University Bookstore and Microsoft have made arrangements to only sell Vista Business licenses for $63 and Visa Media DVDs for $27. Purchase a Vista Business license from the Bookstore (PO or UW ProCard only), present that receipt to SAFS Computing Help, and we will install the Vista Business Upgrade for you. We need to see your proof of purchase before we will install any Microsoft software.
- SAFS is no longer taking budget numbers in exchange for the installation of Vista.
- When buying a new computer, please make sure you buy the appropriate version of the Windows software. Currently, you have all the XP and Vista choices. We are going to set Vista Business as the SAFS standard Microsoft OS.
