There are 3 options for purchasing Microsoft software products at the UW.
- The Microsoft Select - Work Use Only
If a Department is not listed at the above website as part of the yearly agreement, Faculty and Staff may purchase Microsoft products for work use ONLY through this Select Program. The software may not be installed on your personal computer unless it is solely used for UW-related work and not for personal use. See item 2 for information on the combined personal/work use option.
- The Microsoft Select Program - Personal and Work Use
Students, Faculty and Staff may purchase Microsoft software for personal/work use though this program. The licenses are perpetual and you may load this software on your personal computer that you use for work and personal computing.
Staff and Faculty in SAFS who are using a UW-purchased computer will pick option #1. Office 2007 Pro is selling for $72.
For those students that are using their own personal computer and wish to to buy a personal copy of Office 2007 Pro for home or work use, the price is $85.
- MOLP Licenses from the University Bookstore
At this time, departments are still able to purchase Office licenses via the MOLP (Microsoft Office License Program) program. Cost per license is $65. No software media or documentation is provided. You MUST HAVE the Microsoft license in your possession before we can install Offiec 2007 on your SAFS computer (personal purchased computers are not allowed under this program).
In order to facilitate the ordering of these license, please fill out one of the SAFS Purchase Request Forms available in the mail room. The Univeristy Bookstore is the vendor and you are purchasing a MOLP Office 2007 Pro License. $65 each.
This ordering process can take several weeks. It is IMPORTANT that you order your software well in advance from when you are expecting to use it. SAFS Computing Help will not and can not pre-install any Office product for you. We need to see your Microsoft license and proper Microsoft registration codes before we can install any copy of Office.
